After visiting Jeju Island at Korea again in 40 years.

Travel Purpose: Celebration  trip of a wife's sixtieth birthday

Trip period: May second day -5^th day . 3 nights 4 days Korean Children's day , holiday season

Travel expenses: about 700-800 $ (based on combined couple)

The Meaning and Impressions of Travel: It was clear that it was a pleasant, useful and meaningful trip to Jeju Island at Korea.

But Gangwon-do province , at Korea  is the easiest resort to visit.

 Because Gangwon-do, at Korea has  with beautiful mountains and the East Sea of Korea it is  the most accessible and affordable to visit from Seoul at Korea.

I have been to Jeju Island at Korea with my wife like our childhood  homework  for a while on my last child's holiday.

 Jeju Island at Korea  is the  beautiful sea of emerald light  .

 At the time of my  marriage season , everyone  went on a honeymoon trip to Jeju Island.

However, my wife  and I have been to our honeymoon in the southern area, Jeolla Province  at Korea.

Because my couple  went to Jeju Island during college days.

So  my wife and I traveled to Jeju Island on this time because we did not have a honeymoon trip to Jeju Island.

I rented a car and traveled to Jeju Island.

Let's introduce a detailed schedule.

Gimpo Airport, which I had visited in 30 years again, was not as large as Incheon international  Airport.

I felt that it was neatly arranged.

But   parking space of  Gimpo Airport is narrow ..

Domestic flights also had to do security searches.

International terrorism seems to have influenced domestic flights.

The low-cost plane was not smaller than I thought and it did not look so old.

I just feel that the engine sound  of plane is loud...

I have a disease of ]  otolithiasis.

So I have a sore ears when plane  take off and land.

I blocked my ears in the airplane.

The engine sound was very uncomfortable to my ears.

. I do not know whether  expensive plane  gets a low engine sound  .

I heard  that the disease of  otolithiasis.  is a clean disease, but it is not a disease that can be fixed according  to doctors

I always feel like a friend to be with my partner all the time, like the diseases of  hyperlipidemia and prostatomegaly.

I hope eagerly  that I  should be fine  with the diseases during whole time in my life....

My wife and I arrived at night at Jeju Airport, but the size of Jeju Airport was not big, but it felt clean and compact.

I went straight to the Chungmun Residence at Seogwipo City  in  Jeju island by using a rental car.

It is about 10 o'clock in the night.

The palm trees that stand with the streetlights were nice to me.

I went to Jeju Island with my friends in the winter of that year, in the old days of college in 1978.

The first place that welcomed me was the palm trees that stand on the street.

 It was a southern country mood.

Whenever I see the palm trees, I always remind the romantic atmosphere of the southern country.

.. As soon as the sun of the second day sets on, we are heading to a nearby sea pond by the idea of our wife.

I originally intended to go to the Kangjeongcheon( small river) but accidentally found a nearby sea and drove the car to the sea pond nongismool..

The southern seas of Jeju Island which is cozy and quit place, welcomed us.

Ah! Horizon.

I realize that I come to the bottom end of the Korean peninsula.

It seems to have been said that it is mainly used as footbath or bath.

The wind was blowing quite a bit, but it was  warm breeze also like Jeju Island.

But  my city which I live  in Paju is located in north  from Seoul , in April it blows in winter wind .

Paju and Jeju Island were different from the wind.

Of course, the sea was different ...

The next place I visited was an amusement park called Kangjeongcheon.

It was a small place, but there were also a lot of hotels like Seogwipo city which is  second large city in Jeju island .

I feel that Jeju Island is  made  like a tourist destination.

There are many places to stay.

And then I went to Oedolgae Rock.

One of the most impressive places that I ever had been traveled to Jeju Island was an Oedolgae Rock.

It was similar to Taejongdae park in Busan city , and it was a place where stands rocks like Donghae city's candlestick rocks ..

It was the place where the strange rocks and bizarre stones were marching.

It's a sightseeing spot, so I could have heard a lot of  Chinese people’  Chinese sounds.

I heard that the Chinese bought a lot of land on Jeju Island.

Scary Chinese.

Korean  eternal neighbors ...

The name is also unique,

The name of Oedolgae Rock is meant of Jeju dialect especially..

So it was still a place that remained long for me..

Because it was a sedimentary rock, the scenery was good, and the green sea light was also good to see.

If you go to Jeju Island, I would like to recommend you to go out.

There is a famous Chun Ji-yon waterfall beside the Oedolgae Rock , but I was hungry and could not get in.

I came into Seogwipo city and ate lunch  at Korean traditional restaurant near the Lee Jung Sup art gallery.

The lunch price is around $ 8.

. I remember eating delicious bibimbap which is meant like local food and rub vegetables and meats and boiled rice....

. I think that the best food of Koreans is boiled rice ( Korean traditional food BAP), and the best of boiled rice is bibimbap.

If you come to Korea, try to eat Bibimbap firmly .

It is very good for  your health.

I hope eagerly that this Bibimbap will soon be globalized and replace with the taste of the world peoples.

Because Bibimbap is delicious, nutritious and healthy.

And Bibimbap is not fast food but slow food.

Fast food is harmful to your health, but slow food is good for your health.

The house of Korean  genius artist Lee Jung Sup was still preserved in a traditional hut.

A genius painter who died because of malnutrition.

It is said that he mainly painted cattle and chicken.

As soon as I got into the art museum, his first work to welcome my couple was a cow drawn in red color.

It was the feeling that a really nice red cow which only Lee Jung Sung can draw is alive and breathing.

. He  painted the red cow by creating the art of imagination

It was an oil painting that expresses and conveys the liveliness of a cow in a realistic and delicate touch.

Unfortunately, I could not see  all of the paintings that were painted during the lifetime of the artist.

There were only a few paintings of other painters.

I do not know if there are in another art museum ...

When you go to Jeju Island, you might visit the Lee Jung Sup  art Museum in Seoguipo City.

Still, the picture of Red Cow has remained in my mind for a long time and seems to be sitting quietly guarding the memory box.

I feel like I should say thank you to the artist Lee Jung Sup and I pay respect to him.

The next place I went to was the southern sea called ' Soesokkak Estuary’

I came back to go around the island in front by riding boat at there..

 I came back to the island in front of the ship in a boat.

The bottom of the boat was made of glass, so it was fun and interesting to see the image of Jeju offshore like a skin scuba.

In the old days when I was university student , I was going to join a skin scuba club.

But my mother, who was stubborn, refused.

Because my mother thought that  the skin scuba club was dangerous.

Unfortunately, it is also a new place where I can  remember  not to join club..

I wanted to visit several places, such as the port and the

Gwangchigi Beach

I did not have enough time, so I headed straight north along the coastal road to Seongsan Ilchulbong sunrise peak.

One of the most impressive places when I first came to Jeju Island was Seongsan Ilchulbong sunrise peak.

. It is a place that comes to mind when I think  Jeju Island .

I arrived at Seongsan Ilchulbong and it was parked by car very much like tourist destination.

But, sadly I do not have the time and the strength to climb.

At a nearby Starbucks coffee shop, I drank a coffee and ate the bread  and a banana with a ticket that my daughter gave me.

I had to be satisfied with watching the Seongsan Ilchulbong peak sitting at the coffee shop .

I did not even know that Starbucks would be open in this rural neighborhood.

I thought it was a coffee shop in downtown Seoul.

Once again, I thought it was a scary idea of capitalism.

There is a  defensive position( buylbangjin)  on the middle road into Jeju City.

It was a small defensive position when I stopped for a while and climbed above it..

There was put the  piles of seaweed around and dried them.. I asked a grandmother, "What are these?"

She answered "it is  going to dry an agar.r "

There are a lot of seaweeds in the south sea of Jeju Island...

So it  seems to be collected many kinds of seaweeds by a woman driver...

I studied alive study because  I  only know  a brown seaweed and dried seaweed about Korean seaweeds  .

 We should be more interested in the sea of our eternal resources

With the universe ...

I wonder if it sells in Seoul a lot.

The sea occurs to the word  of vacation and romantic in mind.

The words  of resource and climate change do not come up about thinking  sea.

I thought that I should not neglect studying about the sea that has various aspects by changing recognition.

Someday long ago when I went to Wando Island in youth, the whole island was drying dried seaweed..

Sehwa Beach was a sea beach made of black basalt all over ...

I stopped by north village- stone - hwalubang park, but unfortunately I could not enter the park as after 6 pm

We just were supposed to be satisfied with seeing sculpture  stones at entrance.

I wanted  eagerly to see more about the  sculpture stones in park .

Also, I  did not even go to the National Museum of Jeju in Jeju City because  past 6 pm.

. Fortunately, I had to be satisfied with the time I was able to see the Museum of  folk customs  and Natural History on the next day

I may suggest this museum to  extend it’s time for the visitors during the holidays.

It thinks wish that the hospital also I could be gotten treatment at night or on the weekend.

The convenience store is open 24 hours a day.

What if a hospital or bank switches to a 24-hour system?

It is famous for ' Folk  5^th  Market'  of Jeju City at  Jeju island.

So I visited  it, but it was opened only So I saw it, but it was opened only on the 2nd or 7th days.

I have mistake because this day is not on the 2nd or 7th days.

Before traveling to Jeju Island, I borrowed three books of Jeju Island from the local library.

I looked around, but I did not search in detail on my cell phone, so I make mistakes.

If you go to Jeju Island, keep in mind that a folk market  is open only on the 2nd and 7th days.

I always go into a city during the trip and go into the traditional market and eat meal in restraint at  there.

It is a pleasant trip routine to observe the people who is living there.

So I was going to go but I can not visit.

So I went to search for E-mart which is meant  Korean Wal-mart nearby by mobile phone search.

I traveled to Jeju City and saw more vehicles than I think.

The city of Jeju seemed to be quite stagnant or delayed.

I do not know the reason exactly whether there have  the tourists’ rent cars on the Jeju Island, or  many the vehicles of Jeju citizens,

There was heavy traffic in Jeju City .

On the electronic signboard of the street, fine dust and ultra fine dust were written at the bad stage.

I even thought that clean Jeju city was no different.

I do not know whether it is due to fine dust from China or fine dust due to an increase in vehicle.

In both reasons , the air quality in  downtown of Jeju City seemed to be bad.

Clean Jeju Island seems to be an old story now.

Because it was flying in a western wind  with Chinese fine dust so Clean Jeju Island was covered with fine dust of China.

Jeju E-Mart was also parked full of cars so it was hard to park.

But inside the store, there were not many customers .

It was a leisurely scenery.

Someone went to live in Jeju Island and his friend asked him.

"What do you like to live in Jeju Island?"

My friend said, " When I sleep and get up in Seoul, my head is heavy.

In Jeju Island, it is not.

You can  meet a refreshing morning in Jeju Island.

However, the income is reduced to 10 percents compared with Seoul. ""

I first visited  the Dragon Head Rock)around coast line in Jeju City at Cheju Island .

But I did not visit it  by no time .

The sun set down and the day was dark and I came straight from Jeju city to Seogwipo Jungmun Residence.

. Looking back, Jeju Island road was much better than I thought.

. It looks like tourist Jeju.

As Jeju Island was made in  a sightseeing spot, so I felt it was quite different from Jeju Island, which I visited 40 years ago.

The clean pavement was well maintained everywhere.

It was easy to drive and everywhere is  relatively clean.

Of course, Jeju Island was also exposed to the risk of traffic accidents.

Of course, I am very stressed by traffic accidents.

I have a trauma about it.

The next day we visited Brother Shore Road after breakfast.

After parking in front of Sanbang mountain  on the way,

I looked at the Hamel merchant ship exhibition and  shore of  dragon head.

Hamel, whom we learned in history, was still alive in the Hamel merchant ship exhibition hall.

Hamel is a Dutchman.

In 1653, he  wants to travel to Japan, but he met a storm and drifted to Jeju Island.

He lived in Korea for 13 years and escaped to Holland.

Hamel ran around the world on such a small merchant ship.

I think that his marine pioneering spirit and merchant mentality of the Dutch people is amazing .

At that time, our country only believed in China Dynasty.

Korea  was overworked in the spirit of small China.

It am deeply sorry that Josun Kingdom’s  peoples did not have the international sense to sail  to the  world sea.

I still think it is quite conservative every time I see the introversion of our people who love mountains rather than the sea.

After seeing the Hamel exhibition, I met a foreign girl and a child who brought the dog.

I know that I would meet an American female teacher who taught native English at Jeju International School in Jeju Island.

There are many places where every school had been written by an international school.

There are a lot of school yellow vans which are written by an international kindergarten in the neighborhood where I live .

There were times when I wondered what it meant.

I thought it would be international school if kindergarten taught English.

Of course it is clear that English is an international language.

But learning about world culture is more important.

It had to learn native language first rather than foreign language. ...

It is said that the coast of dragon head  is not accessible due to high tide.

The guide said that the tide and ebb changes twice a day.

My wife invited me to the climate change publicity booth next to the coast of dragon head.

Next, I visited by  (Confucian of Joseon Dynasty) .

Sehando ( his  famous painting)  greets me and my wife  from the front.

It was a familiar picture.

Also, there are ink and drawing paper, so I could  draw his painting and imitated it.

This memorial hall asked me  to write  the poem.

Generally Korean Confucian was used to write poems.

I came to Memorial hall of  Kim Jeong-hee at Jeju to see his paintings and poems .

Many sad Jeju Island  has wind and basalt and woman driver very much.

When I can come again at Jeju island?

At the memorial hall of Kim Jung-hee, I met a pig toilet again that can only be seen in Jeju Island.

It is nice to meet  the pig toilet of Jeju island again.

When I traveled to Jeju Island, I stayed at a junior house in Jeju Island overnight.

When I went to the outside                                                                                                                               bathroom in the morning, the pig grunted and ate my dung.

I was terrified at that time    

 But now, I'm glad to see  toilet of Jeju island  again at hall of Kim Jung-hee ..  

 The years are strangely changing and flowing .

 I pray that our pain will be a feast like this toilet in Jeju Island.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

Jeju Island has many walls made of basalt with black bubbles.

So, there is a sense of space that I has come in Jeju island.

It feels familiar and friendly.

It thinks that Jeju Island is surrounded by folding screens of basalt all over.

Wherever it  went, it could see a stone wall of basalt.

You can find granite rocks wherever you go in Seoul city or Gangwon-do province  at South Korea..

Jeju Island is an island of magma erupting from an active volcano.

Gotjawal Provincial Park was a great park to break my common sense after lunch.

When you go to Jeju Island, please stop by this Gotjawal Provincial Park

 It felt like I was in the jungle.

It is a place where tropical and temperate forests are mixed, so it is clumpy like a jungle.

Generally speaking,  we have preconption which  a park is a place where some trees stand and there are roads and playgrounds.

Gotjawal Provincial Park broke our common sense.

There was standing with hundreds of thousands of trees which I know  tree’s name for the first time.

In a word it was a grand sight.

I thought this was a true park and a resting place.

Please visit Gotjawal Provincial Park  if you go to Jeju Island once.

I thought that the park we are going to in Seoul is not a park but a playground.

It was great luck for us to be able to make a tree as a friend.

I thought that I want to study about the trees steadily .

Many tree friends are waiting for us.

Don't just make friends  with pine trees in Namsan mountain  and cherry trees that are common on the streets.

I went  downtown of Jeju city and visited the Folklore and Natural History Museum

I could see and meet  the history and natural environment of Jeju Island.

. It was a good time.

It was no different from the folklore of Seoul.

Only different kinds of sea creatures were inhabited, and the marine culture was a little different from Seoul’s culture.

After the tour, there was Jeju Dongmun Market nearby so I went to dinner.

It was still a crowded traditional market and a vital place.

But it wants a cleaner, more serviceable market.

It also dreams of a comfortable and clean tourism large country.

When you travel, you hear that it is stories  which traveling between living on travel place is of different level.

I also heard that traveling is seeing things but looking at myself.

I wanted to go to the site of  Anti-Mongolian Resistance

and the 4.3 Peace Park.

But unfortunately my wife and me  could not go because we did not have time.

When will the opportunity come again to me?

A few years ago, when I went to Jindo island with my family, I saw the ruins of the site of  Anti-Mongolian Resistance ( Yongchang caslte).

There were only desolate tree branches on the empty ground .

But it is occurred by new that the memory of our nation's resistance for powerful nation is joy for me..

Struggle against Mongol Invasion

Korea word  came from Koryo word.

Goryeo' kingdom’s strong military spirit,

Goguryeo' kingdoms brilliant military spirit,

Joseon kingdom's noble scholar spirit

It'll be soaring in our bodies today and future .

I need to promise you the next chance.

It is unknown whether there will be a chance to come to Jeju Island again. .

It seems to have slowly reached the end of the journey.

. I woke up early in the morning on the last day of my trip and visited Mt. Halla  my way to Jeju Airport.

It was a quiet path  along with  a rode of the division of Mt. Halla where I had a refreshing morning air.

Jeju Island was well paved wherever I went.

At dawn it was a good condition to drive because there were no cars, the road was quiet and the air was clear.

The peak of Mt. Halla from a close view was smaller than I think  because it's near the top

It didn't stick out a  sharp rock like Mt. Seorak, nor was it magnificent or cozy like Mt. Jiri.

Only a quiet large peak stood pouting like ice cream.

The 3 night 4 days schedule will be completed quickly.

When I came down from Mt. Halla to Jeju downtown, I ached my ear because it dives like a plane landing.

A tour guide told me.

“Overseas trips do not come when the legs are trembled, but when the mind is shaken”.

I thought it was a wise saying.

It was a little difficult for me to travel around the world with my weak body.

My heart is still young, and more my dusk  adolescence is shaken

When I return the car and get on the plane to Gimpo airport at  Seoul , it arrives  in an hour soon at Seoul.

It was a short and good trip because it was only 4 days.

It was a meaningful trip because I felt like I had completed my homework  which come to again in Jeju island after 40 years.

Jeju Island is one of the best resorts in Korea.

However, in general, I think it is difficult to go to Jeju .

I thought that it would be Gangwon-do province which is always with us as a resort where you can visit  with safe  mind

Gangwon-do province  has a deep mountain and clear East Sea.

I miss the East Sea in summer, and I miss the South Sea at Jindo island and Yeosu city in winter.

When I get a chance, I will  talk with you again about Korean  East Sea and South Sea

So then.

For the rest of our lives, let's embark on a powerful and meaningful expedition tour on of the earth!
